In 2009, rhubarb leather was awarded the Certificate for Excellence in Material Development” by the company Materialconnexion.

Rhubarb leather is produced in accordance with the strict guidelines of the International Association for the Natural Textile Industry (IVN).

The Bremer Institute regularly analyses the rhubarb leather to check that it is produced without using harmful substances and chromium.
